Renowned athlete, Jim Hines passes away

Jim Hines, who is a legendary sprinter has passed away recently. He passed away at the age of 76.

Jim was the first man to run 100m under 10 seconds. He had broken the 10 seconds record for 100m.

He had broken a record at 9.9 seconds during the 1968 US Championships in Sacramento.

His record stood for many years before another person broke it in 1983. It was Cakvin Smith who broke his record after 15 years.

He retired from athletics towards the end of 1968. He then went to play for Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.

It was a man named John who shared the news on Facebook. This man was a 1986 Olympic teammate.

Details of his death are yet to be known
