Three thieves were coerced into dancing after they were caught stealing
Netizens are reacting to the clip of three thieves who were forced to dance after they were caught stealing. Some parts of their hair were shaved which made them look ridiculous as they danced to a song that boomed from a speaker. It seemed like they had been promised to receive a lesser punishment if they danced because one of them took it very seriously.
Thieves in Nigeria are mostly dealt with in the street way which is sometimes, brutal. Instead of handing the thieves to the police, some would rather have them drink a mixture of cement and water, some thieves suffer serious fire burns until they breathe their last, while some would receive some serious beating until they can no longer feel their bodies.
Stealing is never encouraged and it will continue to be frowned upon in society. But do you think making jest of the thieves by forcefully telling them to dance is a good way to punish them?
