A mom shared photos of her baby that was diagnosed with albinism. She narrated how the news of the boy's unique genetics altered her brain chemistry.

It was difficult for her to accept that her baby was albino because she isn't one, and neither is her baby's father. Her baby was taken to the hospital for genetics testing and results diagnosed the little boy with oculocutaneous albinism type 3.

She said the Doctor assured her he doesn't have albinism and that his melanin would surface. When she posted his picture on the internet, netizens commented her baby is an albino judging from how white he looked.

A few weeks down the line, his hair grew blonde instead of black, and different symptoms of albinism, such as nystagmus eyes appeared. That was her cue to take him to the hospital for genetics testing.

Lo and behold, the little boy was confirmed to be an albino.

Albinism is a condition where there is little to no melanin in the body. Melanin is a genetic component responsible for giving our hair, eye, and skin dark pigmentation. Therefore the higher the concentration of melanin in your body, the darker your complexion, hair, and eye colors.

Anyone with little to no melanin would have no traces of darkness in their hair, skin, or eye. Instead, the hair color would be blonde and the skin would be pale.
