Woman tried in court over theft of N790,000


A woman names Nofisat Abolanle was taken to court on Thursday for stealing N790,000.

This woman who is 34 years old was arraigned before the Ogba Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ikeja, Lago State.

This was over the theft of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card which belongs to a man named Ibrahim Oluwole.

Reports revealed that she used this ATM card to transfer a sum of N790,000 to her own bank account.

Inspector Patricia Ojeh who is the prosecutor revealed that she committed this crime on the 9th of February, 2023.
She was arranged in 2 counts.

The charge read that she and others conspired to steal and they actually did steal the UBA ATM card which belongs to Ibrahim Oluwole.

They read out the sections of the law she violated with her offence.

The woman pleaded not guilty to the charges which were read again last her.

The Magistrate has granted her bail which is a sum of N200,00.

They have adjourned the case till the 21st of June, 2023.
